Saturday the 10th May 2008 - and the North Cup Semi Final day has arrived with Turriff Youth our opponents, Turriff Youth brought with them a squad of 14 1991 and 1 1992 whilst Celtic had 10 1992 1 1993 and 1 1991, with these facts this was always going to be a tough call for this young Celtic side, but what a game it turned out, the 1992's of Celtic could have and should have won the tie before the end of normal time but poor finishing let Turriff of the hook and it ended 2.2, into extra time and the game was 50 - 50 and a cruel blow was dealt to Celtic when a floated corner deceived everyone and was sneaked into the net with only a short time remaining, Celtic tried with the moments that where left to even the game up but time was not on thier side, So it was Turriff Youth who advanced to the final after extra time AND WE WISH THEM THE BEST OF LUCK but i think all who watched would agree that this young Celtic team deserved so much more than the cruel blow dealt at the end of extra time.
To all the Celtic players who put a tremendous amount of effort into this game well done we feel proud and privelidged to have you as a squad, you should not let losing the tie to an entire team of 1991 despond you, you have shown you are a match for anyone and as we end our season we can happily look forward to next season with much anticipation, you are going to be the team that everyone else will have to try and beat if they have any thoughts of honours in season 08/09. We now start to plan for the season ahead and look forward to the players who have commited to us such as Beth Cameron and Claire Thoms and the others who's names will remain annon for now on thier asking joining up with the current 92/93's.
We thank all our U17's for thier dedication throughout one helluva tough year learning the U17 Level, you have never given up the ghost and your commitment has been second to none, your a special squad of platyers so let's now unleash you on season 08/09.
Thursday 24th april 2008 - and we had been asked by SFA East Office and Events Co-ordinator to help out the Development squad by pulling together a team to play them as the Fife Region Development squad had pulled out of the tie. Taking into considration that the Development squad had 6 of our girls playing for them.
So Rory Nicol and I brought together for the very first time as a squad the following players for this 3 game spell tie - Nadine Millar (Celtic) born 1992 Jodie Clark (Perth City) born 1993 Jessica Moir (Celtic) born 1992 Danni McGinlay (Perth City) Born 1994, Rhea Thomson (Celtic) born 1992 Claire Thoms (Arbroath) born 1993 Sarah Finlay Celtic) born 1992 Kirtsy Lynch (Celtic) born 1992 Yasmin Daouny born (Perth City)1993 Kristy McConnel (Perth City)born 1993 Alanna Carroll playing in her first game for 4 months (Celtic) born 1992 Robyn Smith (Perth City) born 1993 12 players who had to train together for the first time for 20 minutes at Charlotte street in Dundee took to the field against the following team:
Cheryl Baille (Celtic) born 1989 Brooke Roddie (St Johntone) born 1991 Amber and Casey Martin (Forfar) born 1991 Chelsea Watson (Celtic) born 1992 Claire Godsall (Celtic) born 1991 Natalie Burns (Celtic) born 1991 Amanda Kelly (Celtic) born 1991 Sarah Smith (Forfar) born 1992 Taylor Brodie born 1990 (Dundee United Ladies Premier League) Gemma Sanderson ( Monifeith Ladies) born 1992 Danielle McMillan (Celtic) born 1992.
huge difference in age levels but how did the 3 x 25 minute games go:
1st game the young squad took a while to find each others game and it was no suprise to Rory or I that they came of 2 goals down, the difference being the experience of the much older girls in the Development team especially Taylor Brodie who scored with a thunderous drive to put them 1.0 up. Chelsea Watson (Celtic) scored a fine 2nd for the Development team.
2nd game this young squad were now starting to find each othetrs game and some of the interlinking play was a joy to watch, but Claire Godsall (Celtic) hit a high looping shot towards goal which decieved the young team's keeper, so this time the young ones came of beaten by Claires goal.
3rd game and the young squad took the game to thier opponents and it came as no surprise when they broke the deadlock from a corner on the left which the youngest player on the park Danni curled into the net, it could have and should have been more, but at the end a win is a win no matter the goal tally.
I think we can safely say that this squad who could possibly be a team next season showed enough in this first get together to send out the signals that they will be a force to be reckoned with especially when you add in Morgan Smith (Celtic) born 1992 Beth Cameron (Arbroath) born 1993 and the next 3 Karis Peters (Celtic) born 1992 Nadine Duffy (Celtic) born 1993 and Shaunni Lee-Coleman (Celtic) born 1993 all injured at present, and two from the dev Squad who are already members of this Celtic squad Chelsea Waston and Danielle McMillan.
Player of the evenings events well impossible every single one of the girls involved did exceptionally well as they were punching above thier weight, so they should all take a bow and milk the applause, well done girls the futures looking good.
Sunday 20th April 2008 - and a huge huge piece of excellent news comes in to the U17's camp - Just sometimes you need a little bit of patience and a person needs some space to find thier way, today patience has finally paid us the ultimate prize as we welcome with wide open arms the return of a player who to us within our's and her heart has never ever really been away from us. A young lady who I will alway's regard as the best attacking player ever to grace a football field in the East. Ali and I cannot wait to work once again with this young lady, it's time for her to progres to a higher level to which she is without doubt perfectly capable of reaching, it's so good to have you once again playing in the green machine, welcome home you have never been away.
As to this young ladies name - let us leave that alone for the time being, when she feels comfortable about the super highway knowing that she is back were she belongs is the time we shall announce to whom the above statement is about.
Sunday 20th April 2008 - and our U17's take on Scottish Cup semi finalists Motherwell F.C, a testing game which would let us evaluate just how much progress this young U17's team has made this season, and my my didn't you give them the game of thier lives. You went down by 3 goals to 1 but to all that viewed this thrilling encounter there was absolutely nothing between the teams. Even the Motherwell F.C Manager stated that you gave them the toughest test they have had this season. On another day with a wee bit of lady luck the scoreline would have been reversed ,Proud of your performance you should be, we your Coaches are extremely proud and we now look forward to our upcoming North Cup ties with relish, you have matched the best and can hold your heads up high - well done Celtic U17's.
Cheryl Baillie, Natalie Burns, Shaunni Lee Coleman, Myra Dunne, Rachel Dewar, Nadine Duffy, Sarah Finlay, Brogan Glennie, Robyn Glennie, Claire Godsall, Amanda Kelly, Kirsty Lynch, Brogan McKelvie, Danielle McMillan, Stacey McLean, Nadine Millar, Jessica Moir, Karis Peters, Jennifer Petrie, Jade Shaw, Morgan Smith, Rhea Thomson, Chelsea Waston
We hope, as many others hope, to sign some extremely talented girls come the end of the season, a young talented football player would be able to spend many years with us as we move to U17's then U19's and then into the Ladies game, some of these young ladies may wonder what our policy is on Regional and Elite Development Squads well the simple and truthful answer is that we do not discourage or stop (as some who simply don't know our policies can only assume, state and think) any of our Club players attending such groups, we think that develpoment first starts with our Coaches who are committed to developing our Club players so they can achieve maximum success and go on to represent thier Country at International level as they become of age to do so, and if a young talent wants to be part of these squads then we would ensure that they had the needed access to join them and encourage them in every way possible. So to any player who is considering Celtic Girls as thier next Club please do not hesitate because of a doubt put in your mind by someone who does not have the knowledge to state such a fact about Development Squads, come join us and your talent will blossom to it's maximum potential.
P.S - Season 07/08 and 38 of our players are at Develpoment Groups
The First Celtic Ladies U17's - for the start of season 07/08 we are actively planning ahead when Celtic Girls (Tayside) Football Club will venture into an new age level at under 17's, this is not quite the last step of the age journey for the current U15A Team before they move into the ladies divisional football, as within the next 2 years the SFA plan to start an U19 age level. With this in mind we are aiming to add to our current U15A squad for next season's U17's and beyond we ask only, that if you want to join this fanatstic group of girls and join thier journey on the Club's long term action plan for this team, that you have the same drive determination and ambition as they do to stay in football as they progress on into the ladies league's. If this is you and you are unattached or will be at the end of the season then go to the contact page and get in touch, come be a Celtic Lady, the future's in sight and we shall not be side tracked from our aims and objectives for this brilliant squad of football talents.
January 1st 2008 - Out with the old in with the new, we here at Celtic Ladies (Tayside) F.C hope that one person can move on from troubled times and have the vision to see one certain talented striker simply want's to come home, the door for her has never been closed and she would be welcome as if she had never been away, it's time to have some vision, it's a new year so let's think of the future and not dwell on the passd, lets think of her develpoment and don't let her stagnate, happiness for her is being back where she truly belongs.

Saturday the 26th May 2007 - To be defeated in the 72nd minute of a 70 minute game, with the last kick of the ball clearly shows what Celtic Girls U15A are, those present witnessed one heck of a game and surely no one can disagree that the Hoops were by far the better side on the day, only a slight disertion by lady luck and some ridiculous offside decision's by the far side linesman stopped these girls being the final victor's. Every single one of the players in the green and white hoops can stand ten feet tall today, you were simply amazing. You fought for every ball, you never stopped even when the going got tough, you went behind but came raging back, you showed those that doubted that you are and alway's will be an incredible bunch of girls with courage, talent, beleif and determination that is second to none. A sight that also made us proud was our two cup tied players Karis and Sarah standing on the touchline kicking every ball and making every tackle as though they were on the park, your spirit girls is the best thier has and ever will be.
Ali and I are honoured and humbled to be your Coaches. Your journey has just begun as a team of 1992's who will progress through the serious football age level's together, How many other teams across Scotland can keep an entire team together and send them up the age level's as a team? not many if any would be the answer, and what a season you have had, thirty odd games played with 4 little blips along the way which were silly little indiscretions that you should forget. We have always said that thier is a bigger picture for everyone to see with regards to this team, it's not about now it's about your overall progress (which this year has been excellent) and your future years, real footballing accolades will come in good time, so girls let's be patient because everybody know's that those day's are not so far off for all of you in the 1992 Hoops.
Player By Player Final Analysis
Nadine Millar - Commanded her box perfectly, terrific kicking and communicated with her defence all game, could have done better at second goal but hey thiers ten other players in front of Nad's, all season long she has pulled of unbelievable one on one saves, along with getting to shot's that simply defied logic.
Amy Hart - Herty never stop's, her tackling was again spot on, got dragged infield out of position a couple of times, excellent distribution and her throw in's down the line were terrific.
Zoe Mathieson - The Rock was as her nickname suggests rock solid throughout the entire game, never lost a tackle.
Chelsea McDonnell - Came back from her usual midfield slot to sit in for cup tied Sarah. Perfect performance, Player of the Match, tackled and fought like a tiger for everything, drove her team mates on, always moved forward for corners etc and got on the score sheet with the hoops second.
Brogan Glennie - T1 put in another solid performance, with good thought on how to get out of tight situations, looked more comfortable in the left back slot, another who showed grit and determination.
Jessica Moir - Inspirational performance from the skipper, The Quiet One just get's better and better.
Kirsty Lynch - Speedy showed excatly why we missed her so badly last week, she never gave the opposition's midfield a moment's peace the entire game, tackled and harried tenaciously with grit, steel and determination, it's in her game.
Rhea Thomson - TT was simply TT some dazzling run's and interplay, backed up her defence superbly and never gave up.
Robyn Glennie - T2 worked her socks off, her tackling linking up and tracking back on the right side of midfield was immense. Alert to fire in the first for the Hoop's.
Chelsea Watson - Chelski because of Karis being cup tied was asked to play a strikers role and she ran herself into the ground, some terrific skills to get her clear of her markers, excellent movement to get on the end of through ball's and was simply unlucky not to be on the scoresheet on more than one occassion.
Sarah Smith - PP like Chelski ran herself into the ground up front, never gave up and chased every ball, as always her deliveries from corners etc were perfect, always given her team mates a passing option on the right.
Amy Craig - Tiny came on for T2 as the hoops went three up front, a decision that was made because of her electric pace, won the corner for PP to deliver and Chelsea McD to convert, showed she has got the ability in her locker.
Injury victims Georgia Gaffney and Rachel Dewar and Cup Tied Karis Peters and Sarah Finlay showed just what this teams bond is all about as they played the game from the touchline, all 4 kicked every ball and made every tackle as though they were on the park, they were a continual arm of support for thier teammates.
All in all every single one of the girls in the green and white hoops are winners in the view of the majority, we do salute and applaud you, well done girls you make us very proud, you always have.
CONGRATULATIONS
Sunday the 11th March - Well done to Chelsea "Chelski" Watson who plays for our U15A Team, Chelski was competing in the Schools National Cross Country Championships at the weekend down in Irvine, Chelski was competing against over 200 girls from all over the country and did exceptionally well to gain 5th place in a 14 mile race. CONGRATUALTIONS CHELSKI, and well done from all the girls at Celtic.
Tuesday the 13th March - More good news from the Coca Cola Schools Sevens Tournament held at Gussie Park in Dundee today, Zoe "BB" Clark who plays for our U15A Team was representing Arbroath High School and has made it through with her team mates to the next stage of the Tournament. CONGRATULATIONS BB, the next round is at Lesser Hampden and is the last step before turning out at Hampden in the finals, go on BB we are with you all the way. Zoe's team qualified from today's leg by winning every game, well done from all the girls at Celtic..
Wedenesday the 14th March - Another CONGRATULATIONS to Chelsea "Chelski" Watson, another championship long distance race when she competed in the Dundee Secondary Schools Cross Country Championships and this time won the bronze medal in the U15 Girls category, huge achievement when you consider Cheslsea ran 14 miles on Sunday, marvellous and everyone at Celtic Girls sends thier well done wishes.
Saturday the 7th April 2007 - And finally Karis Peters and Sarah Finlay get to play thier debut for the Hoops, and my was it worth the wait as we travelled up to Forfar to take on Forfar Farmington at the Academy. Playing together as a starting line up for the first time was Nad's, A-jay (Herty), T1, Th-Thirteen, Sarah Finlay, Speedy, The Quiet One, Chelski, TT, PP and Karis Peters. Wow is the only expression as this team stormed into a commanding 3 goal lead within the first 25 minutes, this showed us enough and we then chopped and changed the team. But the debut girls took to thier roles in thier new team like they had been here for years, Sarah joined up with T1 in the heart of defence and was immense, Karis Peters - well a hatrick against Forfar Farmington on her debut say's it all,, special, two talented girls and two brilliant signings, well done to both girls. Today though was also about the squad that is Celtic Girls U15A and you all did splendidly well girls (see match report)
Thursday the 3rd May - Was semi final day at the School Coca Cola Sevens competition down at Lesser Hampden in Glasgow, Zoe "BB" Clark joined her school teammates such as Beth Cameron, Claire Thoms and Kelly Clarke (no relation) to again represent the Arbroath High School team who had made it through to the semi's without losing a game, Buzz Bomb and her teammates did ever so well on the day losing only one goal in thier only defeat ( which remains the teams only defeat throughout the entire competition), sadly they did not make the finals this year losing out only to goal differance which seem's a tad harsh but all the girls who played can hold thier heads high, a single defeat does not make you losers it shows just what a terrific team you are so well done girls from everyone at Celtic Girls (Tayside) F.C, you did your school proud.
Sunday the 20th May - An absolutely fantastic accomplishment happened today as Chelsea "Chelski" Watson took part in the Women's 500 race, This was a race where many top runners had entered including the likes of Liz McColgan's daughter. Well it's a massive CONGRATULATION'S we send Chelski from everyone at the Club for gaining 2nd place, what a huge achievement for a young girl of 15.
Welcome Onboard - The month of December brought with it to the U15A squad 3 new hugely talented recruits the twins Brogan (T1) and Robyn Glennie (T2) and Kirsty Lynch (Speedy). These players add extra strength and ability to an already strong squad, we welcome the girls and look forward to the day they take the field in the Celtic Girls colours. The month of December also brings with it cancellations due to adverse weather and ofcourse the winter beak over Xmas and New Year, Have a nice one all see you soon!!!!
New recruits and Returning Talents - July and the start of the season draws near and with it we welcome three new signing's of Zoe Clarke (BB) from Arbroath, Zoe's skill and tenaciousness will add another dimension to our way of play, we are extremely happy that Zoe opted to sign for Celtic Girls U15A others tried to sign this talent but failed to impress, Amy Craig (Tiny) who's pace and skill on the ball will torment many a defence and Chelsea Watson (Chelski) who has pace, skill in abundance and scores goals for fun (the last two girls we welcome back you have never been away, you've came home to your rightful place), all in all a trio of talented assett's to our squad no question, we look forward to watching them play the Celtic Girls way!!!
Wedenesday the 30th May 2007 - Well what a friendly friendly friendly end of season affair we witnessed tonight at Forfar when our U15A team travelled to the Academy to be the visitors to play Forfar Farmington U15's. Would Karis Peters the new Celtic Superstriker get her 100th goal of the season, time would tell. We arrived at Forfar with the sun shinning brightly down on the newly cut Academy playing fields.
The game kicked off around the 7.20pm mark and within 20 minutes the Celtic U15A Team were staring down at an abyss that had engulfed them with Nikki Todd of Forfar doing much of the damage with two absolutely stunning goals that no keeper in the real football world would have stopped, a third goal for Forfar in this period meant the Celt's had been shell shocked into a 3 goal disadvantage, but hey this Celtic team have been there, dressed in the tea shirt and went deeper than a German Uboat to come out of much deeper holes than this and when they finally awoke from thier Wednesday slumber my oh my didn't they just show Forfar Farmington what the art of football is all about. The first goal was a classic bit of interchanging football that seen the Celt's win the ball in defence pass it out wideleft, cut infield, skin a player move it over the halfway line before releasing PP with a defender to beat, beat she did before releasing a wonderfull shot that the Forfar keeper could only admire as it sailed in to the back of the net, pure quality. Then the moment we all had awaited and again it came from an extremely intelligent passing move from the Celt's, this time it was Supertsriker Karis Peters who had the goal in her sites and as usaul when Superstriker is in this position there is going to be only one outcome as the Forfar keeper could only watch in amazement as the ball hit the back of the net, the magical 100 goals had been reached, but Karis wasn't finished there and when the Celts won a corner on the left hand side PP put over her usual perfect delivery and Karis bulleted it home with her head, 101 not out and 3.3. Then into the second half and Forfar had a terrific opportunity to edge ahead when they were one on one against Nad's, but Nad's being Nad's tipped the thunderbolt strike that was destined for the top right hand corner around the post, again quality goalkeeping from a quality keeper. Celtic then pushed Forfar back for a long spell and again Superstriker showed why she has that tag, banging the ball home after another brilliant build up, minutes later game set and match as Karis yet again got on the end of this time a long clearance before passing the defender before slotting home. Forfar did rally but the game was long gone and even though aided by a ridiculous decision by the Referee awarding a penalty when no player was near the adjudged recipitent of a nudge in the back whilst the ball was 25 feet in the air could stop the 92 green and white hoops, what a tremendous achievement Celtic Girls, when you seeemed dead and buried you came raging back, when any attempt's were made to overpower you you all stood ten feet tall, when absolutely incredible decisions went against you you did not falter, all in all an absolutely marvellous performance and we can forgive the 20 minute slumber at the start of the game a simple blip that is not important, we know sometimes a kick up the ninety's is needed before you awake, Tonight you awoke with venom, style, passion and destruction, you are simply unbelievable, we bow out of U15's football in style and look forward to the arrival of U17's, it has no fear for a squad that will stand together against any foe or advisory. What a year you have had against every entity, obsatcle and down right wrong placed in your way, you have overcame them all with passion and pride, we salute you the 92 green and white hoops, no words can describe what you are all about, Oh and let's not forget Karis Peters Superstriker finished on 103 goals, a new sensation is born, the 92's have a new Superstriker, goodbye dreamers
Sunday the 3rd june 2007 - Something special has happened over the past short while at this glorious club, something that no single entity or group can ever change, something that has grown so strong that no matter what any single person or congromalate can try to throw towards us would have any damaging efferct, we have grown strong through the bitter pain of battle, we have learned through mistakes and error's along the path that we have taken. Yes we have not alway's been correct in our judgement, but as a young club we have taken on board our mistakes and dealt with them to ensure that we would never ever make such mistakes again. Decisions were never easy to make but make them we did in the name of our fledglings, in our fledglings we mean the most importnat part of our Club and that is our players. This has brought us to the crossroads of where we are today a crossroads that would never had been reached if it was not for the support and strength of our friends, and it is an honour to call them our friends Amber Douany and Rory Nicol of Perth City. These two individuals have supported Celtic Girls (Tayside) Football Club in a way that could only be described as fantastic, as if it where thier own Club, they are two quite remarkable people and I personally feel honoured to be classed as thier friends, an honour that shall never be forgotten and shall never diminish. They stood tall for us when the long knifes came out, they backed this Club when then odd's were firmly against us, and with them we came shinning through the awfull attempts to slay us. For players such as Rebecca Taylor, Marnie Drumm, Alanna Stewart, Shaunnie Lee Coleman, Yasmin Anderson, Jessica Moir and Chelsea Watson to name only but a few you will never ever no the politic's that have preceded, but please every Celtic Girls Committte member, player, Coach and spectator never forget our friends from Perth, like us they believe in what Celtic Girls (Tayside) Football Club are all about, and RESPECT is and always should be a two way street.

Natalie is a 1993 and is an extremely talented football player who has great vision and knows where the back of the net is. Natalie will give the U15B's a terrific goalscoring threat, welcome on board Natalie from every one at Celtic Girls we are all glad to have you playing with us.

Saturday the 5th May - See's the U13A travel to Monifeith to play Monifeith Blues in the semi finals of the U13 League Cup, girls this is a terrific opportunity to get to the final but you will have to play to the best of your ability to overcome the Blues, if you succeed you will be in the final on May the 26th where you will get another crack at either Perth City or Arbroath, so come on the U13A's 100% commitment and give it your best shot.
CONGRATULATIONS AND WELL DONE CELTIC U13A - the young "A" team went down and came back up with a terrific win which see's them yet again reach another League Cup Final, which in my view is an achievment and thoroughly deserved for thier perfromances over the entire 06/07 season, well done girls yet again you have done your Club proud, who will be your opponents well it will either be Perth City or Arbroath who contest the other semi on Tuesday evening up in Perth.
This tie was in the words of the Celtic Coach an enthralling encounter, Celtichad Amanda Primrose back who had been out with an injury for quite some time looking like she is back to her best, and it showed as she opened the scoring, Monifeith Blues then equalised before the half time whistle blew,1.1 into the second half and Niamh Ireland scored a teriffic goal to again give Celtic the lead, 2.1 the next goal was going to be crucial and when Amanda Primrose picked up the ball and darted towards goal you sensed what the outcome was going to be and Amanda duly obliged sending the ball home which gave the Celt's a 2 goal cushion, Celt's then pushed the Blues back and could added to thier tally but the final whistle came with the scoreline 3 goals to 1 in the Hoops favour and a final against either Perth City or Arbroath Inchcape on the 26th May at Forfar Academy, let's see you put on the peformance as last years final against Dundee United when you played brilliant attacking football.
Well done Celtic U13A thats 3 League Cup Finals in 3 season absolutely staggering, with some big big perfromances today in Samantha Cooney and Jennifer Armstrong playing brilliantly and Chevonne Scott, Paula Baxter and Amanda Primrose eclipsing them for the title of Player of the Match with Amanda being awarded the accolade.
Wednesday the 23rd May - Seen Celtic U13A's travelled up to Forfar to play the ever improving Forfar Flames with the knowledge that a win would see them overtake St Johnstone and gain 3rd spot in the League, which in itself would be a terrific achievement giving the injury woe's that this young Celtic team have had since the turn of the year. It was also thier last League game of the season before the League Cup Final against Arbroath Inchcape this coming Saturday. The young Celt's didn't let anyone down as they came home with a 3.1 victory and in Manager Bobby Ireland words "they put in a terrific display to beat a very good talented team in the Flames", Bobby added that he hopes that they can reproduce the form they showed in the Flames game when they take on Arbroath in the Cup Final on Saturday. So CONGRATULATIONS U13A's, now let's see you finish the season with another terrific display against Arbroath, remember one year ago when you went into afinal against an excellent Dundee United U13's side and gave them the shock of thier lifes, GOOD LUCK from all at the Club.
Saturday the 26th May - Brought with it the U13 Cup Final for our U13A's, who travelled to Forfar to face the much fancied and hot favourites Arbroath Inchcape. My did our U13A's give them the game of thier lives as the game ended 1.1 after normal time, and from all that were present witnessed an atrocious tackle on the Celtic Goalkeeper should have resulted in Arbroath being down to six players midway through the second half of normal time which could have given the A's a deserved advantage, but the Ref didn't see the tackle and could only go on what he was told resulting in the player only receiving a caution, sad then that in extra time this player went on to score the crucial goals that won the Cup for Arbroath. But a huge well done must go to Bobby and his team an amazing performance from an incredible team, well done girls.

This is our young U13 team, with all the girls playing at U13 level for the first time this season, our young team are playing some excellent football and have surprised a few teams as you will see with the history of results below. They have surpassed expectation levels already by qualifying for the top half section of the U13 League, and within the games of the second half of the season they have sprung a few more suprises, they have more than held thier own against some very good U13's sides and thier finishing League position has been won on merit
This season's has given the B's priceless experience for next season and if you have aims of winning next season's League Title then this is one outfit you will most certainly have to overcome. Alan Roy and Duncan Couttie are gelling this team into quite a formidable footballing outfit, you should try and catch them in a game because they are a joy to watch as they get the ball down and play the passing game.
CONGRATULATIONS and Well done the U13B's from everyone at the Club, you've had a marvellous season and we are all looking forward to your second season at U13 Level
Saturday the 12th May - And our young U13 team hosted Farmington Flyers who are the elder of the Framington 3 U13 teams, and what a marvellous performance our young team put on winning the game by 4 goals to 2, our young U13's have simply went from strength to strength this season. Next season they are goping to be the ones any other aspiring League Champions shall have to beat if they want to win the U13's crown.
Wednesday 18th April - Celtic Girls U13 A and B served up a cracking tie at Balfield Park tonight with some terrific football played by both teams, it's very healthy for the Club to know that both 13's are playing the kind of attacking, passing and entertaining football that we believe in.
The B's came out of the starting blocks on fire and stunned the A's by taken the lead through Alanna Stewart, the A's came right back at them but again the B's quickly hemmed the A's back and Aimmee Sturrock fired them into a 2 goal advantage, terrific goalkeeping from Chantelle Couttie was keeping the A's out but there was nothing she could do minutes before half time when the A's scored a well worked goal 2.1 it stood as we went into the interval. The second half kicked off as the first half had with both teams surging forward this time the A's were on the ascendency and equalised, 2.2. Then Amanda Primrose who is an exceptioanl talent lost her marker to fire the A's in front 2.3, still the game flowed from end to end and the B's got the equaliser that their play merited when Alannah Stewart got her second of the game, 3.3. A special word for Ailsa Luke of the B's who played very well throughout, what a game what an advert for girls football but mainly and most importantly what an advert for Celtic Girls, well done all the U13's.
Wednesday 9th April - Celtic Girls U13B took on Invergowrie this Wednesday Evening at Lochee Park with a 6.30pm kick off , and another cracking tie was viewed by all as Celtic Girls won the tie 4.3 with the goals coming from Aimee, Chloe and Alanna bagging 2. This result means that our young guns move up the "A" Section and join Farmington Flyers on 30 points but with 2 games in hand over the Flyers, absolutely fantastic and no matter what the rest of the season holds this young team have done terrifically well in thier first season at UI3's, well done girls you do play the art of football.
Saturday the 31st March - Celtic U13B played hosts to Dundee United at Balfield and those present witnessed a footballing treat as two young teams played imaginitive football throughout a very good game.
Celtic U13B came out on top 3.2 in this thrilling tie so well done and congratualtions to our young talents you have now put a gap between yourselves and Dundee United, you also have a game or two in hand against those above you and the way you are playing you could well climb up this tough "A" Section, well done also to Dundee United's girls, Maggie has them playing good football and I'm sure as the U13B's they'll be a tough team to beat next season, the Celtic goals came from Alix Johnston, Aimee Sturrock and an own goal by Dundee United.
Saturday the 9th June 2007 - Our young fledglings Celtic Girls U11's travelled up to Forfar today to take part in the first ever SWF U11 Football Festival which was being staged at Forfar Academy playing fields. As we arrived you could sense the anticipation in our young hoops as the stepped of the minibus, the atmosphere surrounding the Academy had an excellent happy feel about it and as we walked down to the pitches Maureen McGonigle Scottish Women's Football's Executive Administrator was there to greet all the young players as each team arrived, Footie Chicks had came along to set up stall and give each and every team that were taken part a new size three football. Dundee United Girls had a face painting table. There was had hot food stall's, cold drink's tent's and an ice cream van to supply spectator's, Coaches, Referee's, First Aid rep's and most importantly of all the players with food and drink throughout the day. At the Registration Tent Maureen was available for a chat and was happy to talk with anyone throughout the day, she also had the task of ensuring all the U11's players Festival Certificates had the players names correctly on them, with 18 teams that's quite a lot of work, St John's ambulance also had a first aid tent just incase of any serious injury cropping up during the days event.
Game 1 - Celtic Girls U11's kicked of the days festival against Glasgow opposition the Young Yins, the girls played exceptionally well against a talented outfit, we went behind to a good goal but Carly Coleman was in the right place to finnish of a terrifc move to level the game 1.1.
Game 2 - Was against an Edinburgh outfit Whitburn Girls and a hatrick from Rebecca Ray plus further goals from Charlie and Kelsey seen our young ones record a 5.0 win.
Game 3 - Was against East End from Aberdeen who dwarfed our young ones but they put up a tremendous fight to come out of the tie with a 0.0 scoreline, which was a great achievement considering the physical differance between the two teams.
Game 4 - Came after lunch and the break did our fledglings no favour's as they seemed to struggle against Kilwinning Girls, although it has to be said that Kilwinning had a wee girl playing for them that stole the show wearing number seven, as our young ones lost by two goals to nil, which wasn't that bad a scoreline when you consider Kilwinning were winning most games by 6 or seven goals.
Game 5 - Was against Kilmarnock and although we started well the previous defeat had knocked our fledglings confidence somewhat as they wnet on to lose by 3 goals to nil.
Game 6 - Stewart gave the girls a wee chat about pride before they took on Falkirk Girls, Falkirk started the game at a fast pace and went ahead early on, but our young ones did not let that deter them and Marnie Drumm hit an excellent equaliser, then after some very good build up play Kelsey and Charlie passed it back and forth before Charlie finished of the move. Celtic then finished off the game with a stunning goal from Kelsey, 3.1 to our young ones and thier diamond smiles were back.
Gemma - Our young Goalie had an absolutely outstanding day.
Rebecca Taylor - Fantastic defending performances
Kirsten - Again Fantastic defending performances
Carly - Solid strong midfield performances
Marnie - Solid strong midfield performances
Rebecca Ray - A hatrick says it all, also went in goals against Falkirk to give Gemma an oufield game.
Charlie - Terrific skills and ran all day, chipped in with two goals and linked up well.
Kelsey - Again Terrific skills, also chipped in with two goals and linked up well.
Caitlin - Played in nearly every position and done very well in each.
All in all it was a pleasure to attend today's event with Stewart and our young fledglings, each of the nine young hoops had a part to play and they all done exceptionally well on a very hot day to keep on going right to the end, the experiences that they all gained today will stand them in good stead for the future, well done every single one of you, the Club hands are in safe feet for the future.
The Festival itself was absolutely fantastic and a word of thanks and appreciation must firstly go to Paul Whyte who had a large part to play in the organising of it. No winners or losers in the teams that took part, they were all winners today and they all truly derserved thier Certificates of Award at the end. We also send our thanks to Maureen McGonigle who also played a major role, it was terrific for our young footballers from all over the Country to gather and be addressed from Maureen. We also send our thanks to the Referee's, Footie Chicks, St Johns and all the helpers who did thier bit to ensure this day was one that will long be remebered. Many friendships were formed at the event and everyone involved in girls football is saying the same, MARVELLOUS DAY OUT FOR EVERYONE- CELTIC GIRLS THANK YOU ALL
